On Orphans, Abandonment & Rejection

On November 17, 2009, in Spirit of Adoption Series, by Wayne C Anderson

“It is His promise not to ever abandon us! So, who’s report will you believe? Your mind, your intellect, your thoughts? Or, the promise of your heavenly Father!”

From the beginning the devil, who is the serpent of old, Satan himself, has deliberately made mankind feel as though they are abandoned by God the Father. To this day, his wicked spirit taunts us all, saying that we have been left for something that God must think is of greater importance.

We are left to be battered in our minds with thoughts of abandonment and we view things as if God has better things to do with His day than to hang out with us. Yet, He will “never leave us or forsake us!” It is His promise not to ever abandon us! So, who’s report will you believe? Your mind, your intellect, your thoughts? Or, the promise of your heavenly Father!

In the natural sense of life, when a child is totally abandoned for any reason, we call them orphans. Some are abandoned by wicked and self-centered parents. Others by accidents and death. Many by the ravages of war, genocide and abject poverty. It still amazes me how we can never have been effected by any of these travesties and yet we think like orphans and act like those who have no help or guidance at all.

Rejection is carried about by us only because we listen to the voice of abandonment that the evil spirit of death and hell has shouted into our minds. We listen to that voice so much that we think that we have no Father at all. Yet, He is the Father of lights. We are the lights, ya know. We are cities that are set upon a hill that give light to the valleys and terrain about us.

There is surely a spirit that is sent against those who will inherit salvation that brings about a life of rejection if it gets its way. Rejection is among the most painful things that the human soul can endure. Rejection will bring about the most erratic behavior in some and hide behind the need of perfection in others. This spiritual force of evil that is sent against us to produce the pain of rejection is a lie from the father of all lies.

But the truth is that the Father has accepted us and rejection is impossible. Rejection cannot take place when we have been accepted and not rejected by our heavenly Father.

I believe that we must capture the feelings of rejection as they show themselves. Question yourself: What does rejection feel like? Do we reject others so that we don’t have to feel the hurt of the rejection that we know is eminent? Do we behave in ways that will produce rejection quickly so that we can just get it over with? The questions of rejection are answered by our belonging to the Father. He has never abandoned us. He has come to rescue us.

Hold on to your joy with all that you’ve got. Do not trade it for anything. Do not let it be purchased for the price of uncomfortable circumstances, or financial troubles. Your joy is a precious treasure to you.

“Father of lights! I know that You love me and I am Your child, the apple of Your eye, in the center of Your focus, and the object of Your affection at all times. Even when I do not “feel” You, I know You are here with me. I wish to thank You and acknowledge Your presence with me now. Surrounding me with Your being – right where I am sitting! Your love and peace they comfort me exceedingly! I am Yours. I am not ever rejected by You and any and every bit of evidence that would try to sway me into thinking otherwise I recognize to be a lie. You have not abandoned me. So, I will stop abandoning You, Papa. I will walk with Your Spirit and not leave You. I am not an orphan and have never been an orphan. I will help orphans find You! Thank You, Papa, for being You and being with me! Amen.”

at 57yrs of age i have woke up to the fact that i have an orphan spirit. It is not just about father it is mother as well. On searching the web, due to my new understanding, i see what is me and the way i have responded and lived my life. This is a shock in some ways and yet the realising of it now makes so much sense. thank you for your articles. I have no where to go. There is no where left to hide. There is only the father and mother heart of my true parent.
