We were dating...He used to say, "can i borrow ten or twenty dollars?" I would say "yes" reluctantly, "yes" knowing i could barely make it to work and school on the amount i made...I wouldn't whip it out, hoping he'd forget...He'd ask again.."Sherrie, i really need it, i know you do to, but i need it more!" "Can i get it now please, now sherrie, right now!" So pushy!! I would take the ten or twenty out of my purse, hand it to him, he would stick it in his pocket and pull something out of his pocket as he pulled his hand out and give it to me...it was at least five fold what i gave him, a fifty or a one hundred dollar bill... And he has been doing that ever since. What ever i am willing to give him, no matter if i am tapped out or have plenty to spare, he gives me back a minimum, five fold increase! That might not sound romantic to you,but a guy who goes at least 500% (not 50/50) takes romance to the finish line...We are nearing the close of our third decade together...you tell me.

My husband and I do not have a deep romantic story of how we met or how we ended up together.....the truth is we were not saved and life was hard. We lived lives of sin for many years and the heartache that went with that was real. BUT GOD! On Oct 31st 1991 I surrendered my life to Jesus and things got better. Several years later, my husband went to a marriage retreat with me to get me off his back. He gave his life to Jesus that weekend and when we went back to our room he got down on one knee and started to read the song of Solomon to me. That was absolutely the most awesome romantic moment of our married life together. God has since done such an awesome work of restoration deliverance and healing. Life today is one big romance, not without problems but that is what makes me love my man more and more everyday. I thank God....that it doesn't matter where you came from, but where you are going. May each marriage and family on this post be blessed with abundant Joy and love of the Father. A three stranded cord not easily broken. Amen and amen.

My wife was a single mom who had privately declared to God that, after seven years, she was finished "searching" - that if God had someone for her He was going to have to bring him to her door. We had met just once before, briefly and even though I lived and worked two hours south of where she lived , I decided one day to find out where she lived and pay her a visit. When I finally found the house and knocked on the door, little did I know that God had taken my wife at her word and I was the answer - seven months later we were married.

My husband, Pete and I met in West Texas when he was at Ft Bliss hoping he wouldn't be called to Viet Nam. We had little money and mostly ate dinner at my parents house and after dinner often went for walks in the warm Southern nights with sweet honeysuckle and sage aroma in the air. As we were getting acquainted and asking one another lots of questions, he mentioned he sang in school choirs all his life and I asked him to prove he could sing....he sang a phrase from an old musical in the 1950's...." I have often walked, down this street before, but somehow the street stayed beneath my feet before, all at once am I, several stories high, as I walk on the street where you live....." in the most beautiful tenor voice I had ever heard.....he got me right at that moment...we met in April and married in August...we do love one another still and I still ask him to sing to me and he does!
