Day One & Two: January 12 & 13, 2012

Kevin Ford & I flew all day, starting in the early morning and we arrived in Lima at around 11 AM. Long flights for both of us but they were uneventful and on time. We rejoiced to see the loving and friendly faces that we have come to know so well: Marco Llinella, Jonathan Llinella and Juan Carlos Ramirez.
We went on the usual Lima “joy ride” through to the other side of the city from the airport and immediately bedded down comfortably at the home of Juan Carlos & Aida. Aida is about to give birth to their very first baby at any time now. She is full term and is due to be induced on the 25th of the month. I’m hoping that the baby will come while we are here though, as we are scheduled to leave Peru on the 23rd.

We awakened on Friday morning and had a leisurely visit with our dear peruvian friends and fought to get internet connections to work to very little avail.

We then drove to Mira Flores and had an inspirational meeting with our new friend Ken Comer with lunch at one of my favorite cafe’s. We talked and told stories and we found out how Ken and his wife moved to Peru in 1999 from the US after pastoring in Montana for several years. We hope to continue to stay in contact with Ken and perhaps do some work with he and his wife here in Peru. Ken pastored in Montana in the same area with Pat & Val Holloran and they used to go fishing together. Due to the fishing relationship that was established between them I was able to hear some wonderful stories about my beloved friend Pat that I had not heard before…

We headed to the airport again and caught a short flight to Piura, which is in the north of Peru. It was a warm summer evening when we got off the plane and walked across the tarmac to the small airport terminal. There was a car and driver awaiting us to carry our luggage and we hopped in for a memorable ride to the Hotel Imperial, a place that Rick Wilson, Joshua Anderson, Kevin Ford and I called our resting place when we were here last year.

At the first meeting here in Piura, we met our friend Pastor Lionel. The music was loud and lively and the people were excited to see us again, along with many new faces. Marco and I preached on the Kingdom authority within every believer to protect their destiny by telling the devil, “Satan! Get out of my life!” The devil is to blame for sickness, pain, people abuse, robbery and poverty. The believer must take their position against the “father of lies” and command him to “Get out of my life!”

Kevin began to use the scriptures like words of knowledge, reading Matthew 8 where Jesus healed the leper, the paralytic, and the fever of Peter’s mother-in-law, thus he called for people with skin conditions, mobility issues and fever to come forward. Every person was healed that we ministered to. Demons were cast out of a young lady that came from a couple of towns away. She needed to be set free and she heard to some men were preaching the gospel in Piura and setting people free. Satan went out of her life when we commanded them with the voice of liberty in Jesus’ name.

The meeting was very powerful and we then were taken to Chiffa (Chinese) for our first meal in Piura.

We are looking forward to a very blessed time in Pirua for the next two days of ministry and fellowship with the ministries here.

Peru Day 7 – “A Tremendous Time of Visitation”

July 17th, 2010 – Arequipa, Peru

Marco Llinellas and I working at the radio station in Arequipa, Peru.

On Saturday morning we went to a radio station in the city that the church actually owns. I preached the gospel of healing and deliverance through the name of Jesus Christ and not through the church or through witchcraft or through secret societies. I denounced the Freemasonry that has put sickness and disease upon the people of Arequipa and then I prayed the prayer of faith. Thousands of people heard and many responded with testimonies of God touching them and healing them. I feel that a tremendous time of visitation has come to this place.

On Saturday Afternoon I taught the leadership of the church again. This time I taught them about using their hearts instead of their minds and their rules in leading the people. They responded with great enthusiasm. We did not pray for people this time because we needed to leave and go to a place where a church is just being birthed in Arequipa. Pastor Moses & Rosa from Lima are planting this church and he asked if we would come do the initial apostolic foundation with the dozen people that are here to build the work from. So we drove across the city and met with them. They are being led by Pastor Moses’ sister. I understand that this is where Moses was born. He sent word ahead that we were coming and that I would pray for the starting of the church and then pray for each of them. Thus, I laid the apostolic foundations of the altar of the church. I taught them on it first, not really for the people of the church but more for Marco and Pastor Mirka our host pastor, so they could learn the ways of apostleship. Once I prayed for everyone we left and went to the home of Pastor Mirka’s mother. She is one sweet lady and we had yet another Peruvian meal of substantial substance…

After dinner, I was taken with Mirka, Marco & Loren Isaac to a bedroom of a lady who had married a man whom she later found out was some kind of witch or satanist and who has conjured demons to torture her in her bed. Well, we had some powerful manifestations of the devil there. I would imagine that those guys will never forget that incident. We found out this afternoon that the lady was totally free. Pastor Mirka was asked back to the room because the ceiling was illuminated with a heavenly light nearly as bright as the sun. A wonderful demonstration of God’s delivering power!

Peru Day 3 – Sounds of Deliverance Rang Through the Building

Marco said the name of the “Resurrection Church” we went to yesterday is named the “City Of Refuge” church, which I think that fits pretty well.

Me with pastor's Rosa, Moses, and Marco

This morning at breakfast I sent you the preceding account of our journey so far. After I sent out the report, we went to the home of a pair of pastors: Moses, his wife Rosa. They had pastored in the Baptist church for 20 some years before they were filled with the Holy Spirit and got kicked out. This caused them to lose all of their friends and even their relatives would not talk to them. Despite all of this, they continued to ministered to the people of a poor area of what I believe is south east Lima. In short order, they soon had a church up and running with the freedom of the Spirit, but no one in Peru wanted to help to them. Most of their help in building the church came from America, so he was eager to know us and to let us know that we are very welcome here.

Because Moses & Rosa had been treated like lepers and cast out of the church, with even their friends and family dishonoring them, I told them that that persecution was what has given them the glorious anointing that they now carry. It is a glorious anointing that sets the captives free from the confines of dead religion of all kinds.

I had a vision of him in the pulpit of his church with two sizable angels at his back. These angels were both holding scrolls of the Word of God in their hands. The angels proceeded to unroll the scrolls to reveal Jesus. So, I prophesied over him about the word becoming alive to him like never before. That the revelation of Jesus was coming out of him and his preaching was coming in a new and exciting manner. I then asked if we could go to his church and pray. After we finished our coffee at his house, we drove over to the church and found out that the baptist church he had pastored is across the street from his present church building. The baptist church has around 40-50 people in it, while he has over 600 in his church now and it grows regularly, on a weekly basis.

I prayed in their empty church building and prophesied 2 Corinthians 4: 1-10 to them personally but gave Psalm 144 to the church itself. We left to go visit the market and a shoe maker friend of Marco’s and then to lunch at a chicken restaurant. Marco then told me that I will be preaching in that church tomorrow night. So, we’ll see what takes place then.

I want to say something that is stirring within me. I told you that I have been studying leprosy in the scripture. I now see that it was a preparation for this trip. I had lost my love for nations and only saw even this as labor and responsibility. I had once looked at the poor of the nations in a warm romantic way, (romantic in the poetic use of the word), but have lost it somewhere along the way. This poor people have been restoring my love for the poor that I once had. I was studying leprosy hoping that I might be compassionate toward the downtrodden again. I did not know there were such poor in Peru. I am totally surprised at what is actually here. In fact, I’m shocked at how little I know about South America and all that is possible here. Lima is a very big city. It is chock full of people that are so kind and willing to hear the gospel. I have yet to be turned down by a single stranger that I ask if they would give their lives to Jesus Christ and let him come and live inside their hearts. Each one prays a simple invitation prayer and they begin to cry. Every one of them cries. It is a most fulfilling adventure that is causing me to want to bring them home with me.

City of Refuge Worship

Tuesday evening we went on the wild ride through the City of Lima north over a mountain pass to the city of Huaral where the City of Refuge Church was a waiting our arrival. Pastor Morales was at the door to greet us with a warm and excited hug. Worship started with exuberance; they really like it loud here! Pastor Morales really wanted to get to the action so he didn’t let the worship go long and he invited me to the pulpit with Pastor Marco quickly. I preached from Luke 13 about the kingdom of God being like a mustard seed. I challenged the witch doctors and spell casters and told the people that the kingdom of Jesus will always win and break the chains that the devil puts upon people. I announced over and over that the kingdom of Light, the kingdom of our God, will always win over the kingdom of darkness with the witches and their spells. I said we would break every spell that’s been placed of every soul in this church tonight. Well, as you can imagine, the demons started manifesting and we were casting outdevils most of the night. The sounds of deliverance rang through the building. Here’s what we saw: 15 to 18 people were saved, with another 20 to 30 rededicating their lives to Christ. Over 100 responded to give every part of themselves over to Jesus Christ and His glorious kingdom. The power was present and many were healed but it was so chaotic that I am unable to report on any specific healings.
