Marco said the name of the “Resurrection Church” we went to yesterday is named the “City Of Refuge” church, which I think that fits pretty well.

Me with pastor's Rosa, Moses, and Marco

This morning at breakfast I sent you the preceding account of our journey so far. After I sent out the report, we went to the home of a pair of pastors: Moses, his wife Rosa. They had pastored in the Baptist church for 20 some years before they were filled with the Holy Spirit and got kicked out. This caused them to lose all of their friends and even their relatives would not talk to them. Despite all of this, they continued to ministered to the people of a poor area of what I believe is south east Lima. In short order, they soon had a church up and running with the freedom of the Spirit, but no one in Peru wanted to help to them. Most of their help in building the church came from America, so he was eager to know us and to let us know that we are very welcome here.

Because Moses & Rosa had been treated like lepers and cast out of the church, with even their friends and family dishonoring them, I told them that that persecution was what has given them the glorious anointing that they now carry. It is a glorious anointing that sets the captives free from the confines of dead religion of all kinds.

I had a vision of him in the pulpit of his church with two sizable angels at his back. These angels were both holding scrolls of the Word of God in their hands. The angels proceeded to unroll the scrolls to reveal Jesus. So, I prophesied over him about the word becoming alive to him like never before. That the revelation of Jesus was coming out of him and his preaching was coming in a new and exciting manner. I then asked if we could go to his church and pray. After we finished our coffee at his house, we drove over to the church and found out that the baptist church he had pastored is across the street from his present church building. The baptist church has around 40-50 people in it, while he has over 600 in his church now and it grows regularly, on a weekly basis.

I prayed in their empty church building and prophesied 2 Corinthians 4: 1-10 to them personally but gave Psalm 144 to the church itself. We left to go visit the market and a shoe maker friend of Marco’s and then to lunch at a chicken restaurant. Marco then told me that I will be preaching in that church tomorrow night. So, we’ll see what takes place then.

I want to say something that is stirring within me. I told you that I have been studying leprosy in the scripture. I now see that it was a preparation for this trip. I had lost my love for nations and only saw even this as labor and responsibility. I had once looked at the poor of the nations in a warm romantic way, (romantic in the poetic use of the word), but have lost it somewhere along the way. This poor people have been restoring my love for the poor that I once had. I was studying leprosy hoping that I might be compassionate toward the downtrodden again. I did not know there were such poor in Peru. I am totally surprised at what is actually here. In fact, I’m shocked at how little I know about South America and all that is possible here. Lima is a very big city. It is chock full of people that are so kind and willing to hear the gospel. I have yet to be turned down by a single stranger that I ask if they would give their lives to Jesus Christ and let him come and live inside their hearts. Each one prays a simple invitation prayer and they begin to cry. Every one of them cries. It is a most fulfilling adventure that is causing me to want to bring them home with me.

City of Refuge Worship

Tuesday evening we went on the wild ride through the City of Lima north over a mountain pass to the city of Huaral where the City of Refuge Church was a waiting our arrival. Pastor Morales was at the door to greet us with a warm and excited hug. Worship started with exuberance; they really like it loud here! Pastor Morales really wanted to get to the action so he didn’t let the worship go long and he invited me to the pulpit with Pastor Marco quickly. I preached from Luke 13 about the kingdom of God being like a mustard seed. I challenged the witch doctors and spell casters and told the people that the kingdom of Jesus will always win and break the chains that the devil puts upon people. I announced over and over that the kingdom of Light, the kingdom of our God, will always win over the kingdom of darkness with the witches and their spells. I said we would break every spell that’s been placed of every soul in this church tonight. Well, as you can imagine, the demons started manifesting and we were casting outdevils most of the night. The sounds of deliverance rang through the building. Here’s what we saw: 15 to 18 people were saved, with another 20 to 30 rededicating their lives to Christ. Over 100 responded to give every part of themselves over to Jesus Christ and His glorious kingdom. The power was present and many were healed but it was so chaotic that I am unable to report on any specific healings.

Healings at a Hospital

Today we split into two teams. Loren Isaac took Stephanie, Auna & Lynda to a big hospital in central Lima. A large group of the churches young people went with them and held an open service with a drama and then soul winning, while Loren and team went room to room and prayed for folks. Loren said that the coolest miracle involved an Incan lady who was deaf.  He said he simply put his hands on her and prayed the prayer of faith. After he had walked away, she started hearing! Loren’s team went throughout the hospital and then were taken to an inner city church that was mostly  made up of young folks. I call it the blue church because it’s painted bright blue and nicely done in Young motif. Loren preached while the rest of the team prayed for folks. There were people being blessed, filled with the Spirit, and all the while, there was exuberant praises coming from them in a most exciting manner. I’ll tell you a bit about more about the blue church later.

My Head is Still Spinning

Meanwhile, I took Melody & Kylie to another poor area of the city, and my head is still spinning from this experience! This poor area looked even more poverty stricken than the one we were at before. It was an area of the Andean mountain people. Being Sunday, there was a church building at the lower parts of the hills where a building was packed with people and the sound system was cranking at about 97 decibels of eardrum piercing sounds of worship music. The music was that Andean sound that we often hear at fairs. The music all came from one guy with a keyboard and another guy with a microphone. It was partly a dirt floor with cement where I was. It was a very strange sensation and I felt as though I was going to do something of national importance. Yet none of the surroundings would have told you such a thing. I just wanted to get my hands on the people and heal them and give the joy and laughter but something was looming of another importance it seemed.

Marco seemed different to me at this meeting although the language barrier kept me from knowing what was going on. Marco called on me to come out of the building to meet someone. So as I was walking toward him, I saw he was standing with a man who was an handsomely dressed elder man. As I neared, the Spirit said to me, “You are about to meet a spiritual father of this nation.” His name is Pastor Eliezer and it turns out he greatly loved James Berkley and was wanting to tell me of his experiences with him. He was deeply saddened about the loss of James. I was moved.

Going back to the service we went to the pulpit and I was in a fix as to what to do. I decided that I would speak to the nation, yet my mind wanted to just heal the people. I prophesied to the nation from the scriptures and by the unction of the Spirit. I called for the young people in the building to come up, everyone 30 years and younger. I challenged them and laid my hands upon each one of them. When I was done, Pastor Eliezer stood up and said, “Please pray for me, please bless me!” I felt like it ought to be the other way around but I did as he requested and began to prophesy to the nation through him. I also spoke healing into his body and strength for what he was to do. Come to find out, he is the Secretary of the organization of evangelical churches of Peru and liaison between the church and the government. He is probably the most important man in the church here in Peru as far as the government is concerned.

Then I called for the pastor of the church and I prayed for him and prophesied of his life past, present and future. These words I could hardly believe myself. He was influencing nations and breaking the chains of bondages off of thousands and though he was hated he was not to weary in well doing for his reward was truly in heaven itself. I then found out that this man was a transvestite that was gloriously saved nearly 20 years ago. His life is threatened all the time by the homosexual community and he’s been on national interviews and well as interview by some of the big TV personalities in the US. Everyone hates this man for preaching a strong message of deliverance through the name of Jesus Christ. If you met this man you would never know that he had that background.

So, I’m in an obscure place amongst the nations poorest, speaking to a father of the nation and a man who represented the devils plans to destroy fathering in the nation and both of them showing the incredible plan of God to restore the hearts of the fathers to the children. It may be for this reason that I came to Peru. I still am reeling from this incident.

Back to the Blue Church

We left that place and headed back into downtown Lima to pick up the rest of the team who were still at the blue church. We got there and the band was rocking’ while Loren is praying for people; many people were already on the floor. The place was packed though they somehow came up with some chairs for us. Seemingly out of nowhere, this young lady begins exhorting the people, but without an interpreter, I didn’t know what she was saying. She proceeded to ask me to come greet the people, but instead I took the microphone from her and started prophesying of her destiny and the fire that is bursting forth from within her and how her voice in the preaching of the Gospel will take her to the nations, etc. This girl was full of the fire of God and had such a presence and authority about her. The blue church would be another great place for a revival and this is nicely located in downtown Lima.

Speaking to Congress

The Peruvian Congress Building

Marco had some kind of miracle call on his phone, so he said: It turns out that I was invited to go the congress of the nation. So we drove to “Old Lima” where the Congress building was located. When we arrived, I was asked to show my passport to the main guard who had a paper on a clipboard in his hands that listed me as a “Representative From USA Wayne C Anderson.” So, I reckon I was expected. We went into the beautiful building where congress met and I was taken into a beautiful quiet room where dignitaries only go. In this room, there were gifts from the nations leaders who meet with the President of Peru there. The furniture was set and they ask me to speak the word of the Lord to Peru here. So, I proclaimed the new day arising and adjured the congress to care for the poor and the downtrodden and serve the people and not themselves. I called them to be a government of God, by God and for the people and then I prayed the blessing of the Lord upon the people of Peru. This was another surprisingly important feat for God’s kingdom. I felt like something took place there in that room that only heaven will tell of.

We were then given a tour guide who showed us through all of the capital facility and told us of some its history. Our guide was a young lady who spoke pretty good English. Her cousin’s live and work in Seattle. So that was fun.

The Blood of the Martyrs

The Museum of the Inquisition

We then walked down the street to the “Museum of the Inquisition.” This museum tells of a terrible piece of terror in the history of Peru where the Catholic Church murdered Jewish and Protestant people because they were not truly converted to the Roman Catholic Church. We were allowed to go into the depth of the prison in the ground and even into the actual torture chambers. I gave the team a reproof of their perspective as they were sickened by the heaviness and the remaining demonic presence in the place. I told them of how this is the place of victory for us and because of these great martyrs, we are able to so freely preach the gospel. Our abilities are not because we are so clever but because these martyrs had shed their blood for this nation against the tyranny of perverted religion and greed. They immediately saw the difference and will probably see such things differently from now on.

Resurrection and Betrayal

After lunch at a cafe in the square where many martyrs were burned at the stake, we left on what is now referred to as “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.” We traveled north through mountains to a large church that I’m calling The Resurrection now. I said to the folks in the van, “Betrayal is important. Betrayal leads to a cross. On a cross flesh dies. From a cross there is a grave. From a grave comes resurrection. The power of resurrection comes through the gateway of betrayal.” I saw a vision of the grave with the stone rolled away and the great and glorious light of the Father’s resurrection power shining out from the opening in that tomb.

When we pulled up to the church it was picture of the tomb to me. Because it was dark outside and the entrance to the church was a great garage type door opening and the structure is down partially into the ground it appeared as a tomb. The mercury vapor lights and white walls of the church inside cause the light to beam out of the opening and it was stunning, in consideration of my thoughts on the tomb.

It was here that I was introduced to Pastor Morales. He had been a business man in Peru and was pastoring in this poor area known most for its dark spiritual powers of witchcraft. He had a national and personal betrayal that put him into prison for over 2 years. Because everything was taken from him, his family could not bribe the prison so that he would have good food and safe prison mates so he ended up in the worst place in all of Peru. Marco ministered to him, his family and his church all that time. When he was finally released he came out of the prison and set his heart toward setting the people free in this area of great witchcraft and evil. The church is an amazing structure in the middle of such poverty. I told him that his betrayal was watched over by the Lord Himself and that it was for the deep abide power of the Spirit of God in order to set captives free from the strongest of adversaries. In a very tender moment he broke down and cried as I was able to touch the heart of a man of God who’s life is a prophetic drama that will produce resurrection life for multitudes. We will be going back for another meeting at the Resurrection Church tonight.

I preached from Luke 11 about Jesus casting out demons, our power over darkness and the power to over take the strong man. People screamed out with demons manifesting and over 60 came forward to receive Christ for the first time and another 20 or more to rededicate their lives. The action started there and before long there were hundreds all over the floor while Marco got excited and flew around the building slinging oil from a big bottle all over the place. Whew, the fire was everywhere! I told the people to bring their families and friend tomorrow night (tonight – Tuesday) and I have no doubt that the place will be a sight to behold when we get there.

The South American nation of Peru

I led a team to a poor district of Lima where we just started ministering to the people in the streets. It was amazing to witness: every person that was sick was healed. Paralysis, demons, depression, pain, blindness… they all went! Here’s what we did: when each person came forward for prayer, we asked them if they had Jesus in their heart, and every one of them said no.  So first we led them to the Lord, and then they got healed. Every single one of them! Extraordinary! You would have loved every minute of it. All the old ladies there wanted to kiss my cheek. They would see me after I’ve prayed for them and you could see this glow that comes on all over their faces – you have to just grin back.

It would be so easy to live with the poor and do this all day, every day.

I really believe that if I could just stay with the poor, that I’d be in the middle of a healing revival. I did not preach; I just led people to Jesus and healed them. Soooo much fun! The love of the people is beyond wonderful.

Marco’s church is very nice. They are a church like we are used to. When James Berkley was here, he even had them stage diving. So as you can imagine, they have some really great worship.

At Marco’s church, I preached about a new day that is coming to Peru. Just as the sun rises over the Andes Mountains and brings it’s light upon the coastal people of Peru, the Sun of Righteousness comes. The day of His dawning began with Jesus rising from the grave, and that new day for Peru is assured by the Father of Lights to come upon the people of God here.

If this first day with the poor is evidence of what things will be like for the rest of the week, this should be a great place to return to.

The Season for Planting ~
Sowing in the Atmosphere of Faith

It is important that we know about seasons if we are going to sow and reap in the Kingdom of our God.

“Then He also said to the multitudes, Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, A shower is coming; and so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, There will be hot weather; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?”
(Luke 12:54-56 NKJV)

It is not good for us to leave all the knowing to God when the knowing is given to us for our good. A good farmer knows about seasons. He will plow, he will sow, he will care for and he will reap a harvest from his land, according to the seasons. A Season speaks of an establishment of the atmosphere. We are always in some kind of atmosphere that surrounds us and has great influence on any seed that is planted. A good farmer does not plant seeds in the wrong season or climate.

To you and I the climate to sow in financially is that of faith. In so doing: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23 NKJV)

Because we do not want weeds and freeze to kill our seeds of finance we must not give in an atmosphere of sin: “. . . for whatever is not from faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23 NKJV)

Yet if we will create an atmosphere of faith to give into we will please God and His Kingdom will always react to the faith that we announce.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Heb 11:6 NKJV)

That which you have given, for us to preach the gospel of God’s grace is a faith endeavor on your part. Rest assured that God the Father has placed into operation, the enlarging power of His Kingdom on your behalf. We are in faith by both receiving your bountiful gift and by believing God for an increase on your behalf.

When you are giving, give into an atmosphere that is charged with faith. If the atmosphere is not charged with faith then charge it! When you are sitting down to make out your check for your partnership giving, either to us or any other ministry, turn the music of God up loud, walk around the room and get into the high praises of God, and at the appropriate time, when faith has filled that room, and you believe God can do anything, then make out your check and send it off! You may say that this is crazy. But you will also say that it is crazy when you give and do not see a return and there is poverty and lack. These are issues of faith in God!

Stress vs. Distress

I believe that there is a difference between “stress” and “distress.” Stress is not only necessary but it is good for you. Unfortunately it gets a bad rap. People who are distressed often say that they are “stressed,” making the word have a different applied meaning and connotation. When people say, “I have a stressful job!” they really mean that they have a “distressful” job.

Stress, on the other hand, strengthens the body, mind and spirit and adds to growth, strength and maturity. Distress is an over abundance of just about anything and everything, including stress. Whew! Makes ya wanna take a nap.

“Honey, I’m stressed out here! Can I get some help from you?” It’s not just a matter of semantics. We don’t always realize the real problem because we are used to hearing words used in the wrong way.

There is an appropriate amount of healthy stress that people should thrive on. The problem in our society is too much of a good thing amounts to lust. The lust driven life easily shifts from healthy stress to distress – like zero to sixty in two seconds! This is part of the lust driven life. Distress causes an enormous amount of health problems for which we go to church and respond to the healing line and expect a miracle in the wrong portion of our lives. We truly ought to seek healing for the source of the problem and let the body heal itself.

We need healing alright. If we had healing in our heads we would have healthier bodies and lives. In a nutshell it is our thinking that needs to change so that our bodies can have the time and resources to heal themselves. This is a major reason for sickness and disease in the western church in this hour.

Lazy minds make sick minds and bodies. Tired minds do the same. It is sometimes impossible to judge between lazy or just plain tired.

Diet can effectually help the tired mind. I’m not talking the slim-trim diets that are so popular today. Healthy eating makes a big difference in a person’s ability to think in a vigorous manner. Fast foods, processed foods, and those things we eat way too much of can easily slow the mind to a snails pace with the result of poor thinking and lets our guard down to the invasion of vain imaginations.

Exercising the body is a good thing. Exercise puts stress upon the body to function properly. Too much exercise and the stress goes from stress to distress very quickly. The result is a lust filled lifestyle.

Exercising the mind is even more important, yet we should consider exercising the mind while exercising the body as well. Body chemistry plays such an important part in the way we think and nothing adjusts the chemistry of the body like eating healthy foods, exercising responsibly and taking control of your own mind.

Unclean thoughts come to every person’s mind, but the disciplined mind will cast the unclean out as foreign matter! This is what the scripture means when it tells us to “take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” So we are talking about putting a bit of stress or discipline to our minds and controlling what we ponder. This is the kind of stress that is placed upon the mind that will bring freedom and liberated thinking, as well as a heart filled with wonder and awe at the things of God!

Using proper stress for the mind is a wonderful healing process. Placing proper stress on the body does the same. Put a proper amount of stress upon diet and the kind of foods that we eat will only benefit us and relieve us of the distresses that can hurt us.

Over abundance of distress will direct our paths into the lust driven life and cause destruction, disease and even death. Discernment, discipline, forethought and prudence are really good principles for the healing life and are strengthening aspects, perhaps even foundation stones, for miracles of faith when the miracle is needed.

So, perhaps the question should be asked, “if distress is causing a lust driven life and symptoms of sickness in the person, should we be seeking a miracle cure of the symptom of sickness or should we seek to be delivered from the distress?”

A tremendous amount of healing would take place if we would simply quantify the distresses in our lives and take steps to become Spirit led Christians instead of lust driven people. I don’t mean to sound harsh in any way, but I’m looking for answers to the pain and sufferings of so many in the body of Christ in this age. So much temptation comes toward us every hour. Media exploits our minds at every turn.

Stress is very important to us for the purpose of healing, but distress is the vehicle that carries us to the lust driven life.

Consider these things personally and see if you can readjust your thinking and lifestyle to produce health and wealth in Godly proportions. Let us live to live, not live to lust, and therefore live to die.

God WILL Heal You! (One)

On November 20, 2009, in Divine Healing, by Wayne C Anderson

“y passion for divine healing obviously started as a young child because I had hated the sickness that my mother was debilitated by. I still hate sickness. This too accounts for my interest in emergency medicine and involvement in the medical programs of the fire departments for which I worked in my early adult years.”

Introduction: A Testimony Of Why

“But to you who fear My name the sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in its wings; and you shall leap about like calves loosed from the stall.” (Malachi 4:2)

It is a new day! This is a day that is marked with righteousness. A righteousness that comes by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. For righteousness does not come by doing what is right or acting rightly. But the righteousness of God can come upon you like a clothing. The righteousness of God is revealed upon you when you believe the gospel of God’s grace through Jesus Christ. His mercy will heal and deliver you, if you will only believe on His mercy!

Now, I’d like to tell you why I believe in divine healing. It appears to many that our ministry is centered around divine healing.

When I was first born into the kingdom of God, I had a supernatural vision that was a call into the ministry of the gospel of Christ. I don’t believe that it is necessary to have such a vision to do the work of the ministry and most people are not called into the ministry this way. I think that it is more usual that people are called by their passion and desire. But perhaps I happened to be with such littleness of faith in the beginning that God gave me a supernatural vision.

I had been hearing the voice of God for several days in a row. He was saying that He wanted me to preach and proclaim this gospel that had so gloriously saved me. Yet, I was arguing with God about it. I knew no better. It was my assumption that He had too many Billy Graham’s in the world at that time and He didn’t need another one. Especially not me! I was a businessman and a firefighter. I liked it that way. I just loved Jesus. I was throwing myself into Jesus totally, I thought.

He would say, “I call upon you to preach this gospel.” I would say, “No.” I don’t remember how long this went on. All I know was that God had patience. I would never talk to Him in the manner in which I did then. He loves us past our rebellion.

On a particular sunny afternoon, while I was busy arguing with the Lord over this point of being a preacher, I was thinking that a nap would be in fine order for that portion of my day. I didn’t even get a chance to fall asleep when very suddenly, I had a multi-dimensional drama that went on in the air right in front of my face and it filled the entirety of the room where I was.

I saw my grandfather who had been dead for about 6 or 8 years at that time. He was a Southern Pentecostal man of God. He was a beautiful man. He used to tell me Bible stories when I was a child. I do so wish that I had listened to him with greater intent. He was gone before I was ever a Christian.

In this three-dimensional vision was my grandfather. He was standing at the window of his house that I easily recognized. He was looking out into the yard and as He gazed into the yard I saw what he was so intently looking toward. There I was as a little boy standing on an apple box that was laid down on the ground with another apple box up on its end in front of me like a little pulpit. In front of me were chairs in the yard set up in theater style and I recognized my cousins in their childhood days. I had a book on that little pulpit and I was preaching to them.

This vision was from a perspective that was controlled of God. My view was like that of a movie, whereby the cameral moved about and focused on different aspects of this scene as if it were important for me to see certain things.

First I was looking at my grandfather, standing in the window, overlooking the church service of children in the yard. There, on the little pulpit was a book that it appeared as if I was preaching out of instead of a Bible. It is a book and I can see it very clearly at all times, as this picture has been sort of burned into my soul. The book had a yellowish cover that says as its title, “God Will Heal You!” I could also see the faces of my cousins as I was preaching to them. As my viewpoint of this scene changed I could then see my grandfather standing “ bent over” and watching this backyard church scenario. I looked directly at him and could see that his face was intent. There were tears coming down from his eyes. They were tears of joy and expectancy. It was here that the end of the vision came.

It was at that point that I realized beyond the shadow of any doubt that my grandfather had called upon God, and interceded before God, and dedicated me unto the work of the Lord. For the service of God. From this vision I arose and answered the call of God and gave Him my life to His service.

It was probably a dozen years later, while I was telling this story in my church that it just so happened that my mother was sitting there in the audience. She listened to it for the first time and I noticed that she was visibly moved. I didn’t know exactly why except that I figured that it was because I was speaking of her late father.

She went home that afternoon and called me to her home and handed me a book; a book that had belonged to my grandfather. I had never seen that book to my knowledge.

When I was a little boy, my mother was very sick for a long time. I stayed a great deal with my grandparents. My grandfather had given my mother a book because of her illness. It was a book by Reverend A. A. Allen and its title was “God Will Heal You!”

This is the very book that my mother was showing to me and directly under the title on the front cover of this book was the reason that my mother had saved it. At some time when I was a little boy I had written with a pencil on its cover. Immediately under the title of “God Will Heal You,” I wrote the word “Mama.”

My mother gave me the book that was in the vision. “Will Heal You, Mama” by A. A. Allen, the cover on it says.

My wife and I were saved through healing of our son, Joel, as an infant. We ignorantly walked in a belief that caused healing to take place in our early days of life in Christ.

As the years passed, I became the seventh president of the Ministerial Fellowship of the USA, which was founded on the ministry of Dr. John G. Lake. I was five years the president of that organization.  During my tenure I researched Lake’s ministry and became probably one of a very few living experts on the life and times of John G. Lake having edited much of what you know as the writings and sermons of Dr. John G. Lake.  The reason for this was because of what God was going to do.

On the day that I became the President of that organization my wife and I left for some reason, I don’t even remember why we did it. Less than forty-eight hours, from the time I was made the President of that organization I was standing over John G. Lakes’ grave in Spokane, Washington. This is still a mystery to me as to how it all came about.

While at the grave sight our little girl, Lacey, and my wife, Irene, were out looking at the other graves as is usually done on one of those sunny day strolls through a scenic cemetery. As I was standing above Lake’s grave and leaning up against a tree right that is at his headstone I was contemplatively talking to God and I said, “God if it would at all be possible put even a portion of that man’s spirit upon my life.” An experience came upon me of which words do not do justice.

We returned home and, after some months later, I was editing some of the materials of John G. Lakes’ one evening. In the particular work that I was editing, he was preaching a sermon and was telling the story of going back to Zion City, the place of the ministry of John Alexander Dowey. He said that this the dear old man, though in the last years got off a bit, had the substance of divine healing in him to the place where he was told that even at his funeral people were healed.

And he said something like, “I got to preach in that great tabernacle and he said there were what he called the ‘implements of the devil,’ (as Dowey called them), hanging as decorations around that tabernacle.” Those decorations were wheelchairs and walkers and braces and crutches and pills and potions which men and women gave up, having no need for them because they were healed of their afflictions. These were “instruments of the devil” and they were hanging up as decorations in the tabernacle.

Lake continued his preaching by calling out a woman in that audience, by name, and another man whom he also names, telling how both of these were ridden with sickness and disease and went to John Alexander Dowry’s meetings and were touched by the Lord and healed and their testimonies were right there in the audience to which Lake spoke.

He told of how after preaching in that great tabernacle, “I had the opportunity of going to the graveside of Dowey.”  And he said, “As I stood over that grave I cried out to God: ‘God, if it be possible put even a portion of this man’s spirit upon me.’”

And all of a sudden the lights went on in the darkness of my room where I was sitting and working on my computer. (For, there was only the light of the computer.) Yet the room lit up and I felt the same feeling that was upon me the day when I was standing over Lake’s grave! I realized that I had said precisely the same words. It was, in fact, very mysterious to me. This event caused me to try to understand the wonders of God’s anointing. In time I came to know that the anointing is inheritable.

My passion for divine healing obviously started as a young child because I had hated the sickness that my mother was debilitated by. I still hate sickness. This too accounts for my interest in emergency medicine and involvement in the medical programs of the fire departments for which I worked in my early adult years.

Prayer That Will Change The World – Part One

There is no doubt in any Christian’s mind that prayer is important to the Christ filled life style. But too often in the general populace of the Church there is little regard for that important conversation with God and its insert into the busy lifestyle of the individual.

“So much to do – so little time!” is what we say. Time being our most important commodity of the day brings about judgments as to how we will actually spend each second of our allotment from sun to sun. Perhaps if prayer were more effective than formerly experienced we would place it as a higher priority and even see that with prayer we could actually get more done and therefore have more time.

Let us define prayer and then see its importance and effectiveness in our lives. Is prayer simply the articulation of our heart and mind to a Sovereign God that will hopefully curry His favor and get Him to act on our behalf? Is prayer an act of our obedience whereby an account is being kept in heaven to the measure of amounts of time or intensity? Do we get more “points” for doing it and less for forgetting? These questions reveal varying degrees of misconception within the Church.

Unless we are convinced of the efficiency of prayer, and unless we give great importance to the works of faith we do through prayer, then as long as we are upon this planet we will accomplish very little in comparison to that great gift of life that the Father has given unto us.

Prayer is fundamental and is that central fiber of the Kingdom of God. Prayer is not optional in our relationship with the Lord. Neither should prayer ever be considered as our “last resort” after all of our other efforts have miserably failed. If we think about it, when we say, “All we can do is pray,” we are stating that the priority of prayer is on the bottom of the list. This mentality dismisses the effectiveness and efficiency of prayer and is costing us valuable time, as well as competency of the labors that we do.

Prayer is our central ministry without argument.

In all of this, I do not suggest that we ought to live in condemnation by missing our “morning prayer” or subliminally considering the ineffectiveness of prayer in any way. Although the Old Testament considers the lack of prayer a sin (1 Samuel 12:23) the New Covenant states that our sins are forgiven. (1 John 1:8)

Instead, I am suggesting that if we were to enter the “school of prayer” we would find that the most efficient use of our time is to pray the day through. We do not simply pray because it is our work. We pray and prayer does the work. There is a realm above the natural that is moved by our faith in Christ – when we articulate our heart’s faith the authority of the heavenly realm takes action. I once heard someone say, “When man works, man works. When man prays, heaven works on his behalf.”

In 1957, while in his mid forties, golf great Ben Hogan wrote, “In fact, once you are on the right track in golf, doing things the right way takes a lot less effort than the wrong way does.”

The same is obviously true when we learn to pray the “correct way.” The “school of prayer” then, is a place of gained efficiency whereby we learn to live smarter and not harder.

We are co-laborers with the Lord and with the angels when our faith arises and we declare His great promises and unite our hearts to His. The ability to intercede is given unto us as a great privilege and not a task list to a slave.

In Luke eleven Jesus was praying in a certain place. Because He was so extremely efficient in His ability to pray and see the will of His Father being done, His disciples ask Him to teach them how to pray. Not only did He give them what is commonly called “The Lord’s Prayer,” but also listed three simplified, yet powerful, forms of prayer.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Luke 11:9 & 10 NKJV)

These three forms I call:

  1. Petitioning Prayer – Ask
  2. Envisioning Prayer – Seek
  3. Proclamation Prayer – Knock

Without relevant eschatology, we find in Revelation chapter five through eight the mystery of the seven seals being revealed.

Jesus is at the helm of this universe and its great destiny. In Revelation six and seven the Lord releases some amazing forces upon this world. The darkness of Satan has become the theatre for the light of Christ and only enhances His glory by the contrast it provides.

Today there are wars and rumors of them. There is terrorism, pestilence, new diseases and persistent bondages. There are famines earthquakes and cataclysmic disturbances, making record numbers of widows, orphans and homeless. The prayers of the saints are empowered by lightnings, thunder and fire!

But God is a just and loving God. Once prayer arrives at the throne the answer is fire. Fire comes in answer to the prayer of God’s people.

  1. The fire of judgment.
  2. The fire of passion.
  3. The fire of cleansing.

Fire comes from the altar in heaven. Incense is the intercession of the saints. The works of darkness are the target of the Lamb of God and the prayers of the saints, yet the will of God is preeminent to all who are workers in the light. Only one is worthy to break the seals of the great book. His will is prayed by the saints and He does the will of God upon the earth. Come Kingdom of God! The Spirit of the Bride say Come!

Because of the “big plan” of God let us not be too conscience of the enemies plans.

For, Satan is not:

  • Omnipresent: Present everywhere simultaneously
  • Omnipotent: Having unlimited or universal power, authority, or force; all-powerful
  • Omniscient: Having total knowledge; knowing everything
  • Omnificent: (adj.) om·nif·i·cent 1. creating all things; having unlimited powers of creation
  • All-seeing: Seeing everything at one time

The devil requires that his kingdom be operated by evil and deceiving spirits, that cannot be trusted by even himself. Therefore, he and the kingdom of darkness are in constant turmoil. That kingdom is crumbling at this very moment.

“You are of your father, the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

(John 8:44 NKJV)

There is a direct truth that includes faith, humility & mercy. These completely undo all of the works of the devil.

  • Faith in His promises
  • Yielding to His present power
  • Believing in His mercy

Jesus said, “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Matthew 9:13 NKJV)

Let us be God conscious in our praying, saying, “Come Kingdom of God; be done will of God, on earth as it is in heaven!”

Our prayers ought to be to God about His “big plan” and not talking to the devil all the time! We can laugh long and hard because of the victorious plan of our triumphant King!

With the results of our prayers being fire we have awesome authority in the workings of this universe. Adam only gave names to all the animals, whereby we give fire from the heart of God.

I believe that it’s possible that there was silence in heaven wile God awaited the prayer of the saints. This was an act of His will. He desired to work in partnership with His children rather than in sovereign rule over them.

Once God gets partnering agreement His involvement, by His love for His people, is in tact and He answers with His fire!

Now, revival also comes by fire. (See Acts 1:4; 2:1 – 8)

James and John wanted to call down fire from heaven upon some Samaritans. Jesus did not deny their abilities or their authority to call fire down. He questioned only the motive and condition of their hearts. “And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, ‘Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?’ But He turned and rebuked them, and said, ‘You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.’”  (Luke 9:54 & 55 NKJV)

Jesus longed to kindle the fire! “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!”  (Luke 12:49 NKJV)

To call down fire is an awesome authority and responsibility! Let us pray with fire!
