Arguably one of the most pertinent and important scriptures concerning the Messianic Kingdom of God is Matthew 16:13-19
“He said to them, But you, whom do you say Me to be? And answering, Simon Peter said,
You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And answering, Jesus said to him …
… flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in Heaven.
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My assembly,
and the gates of Hades will not prevail against her.”
“Assembly” = Greek: Ekklesia
The legislative body of the heavens made manifest upon the earth.
This is one of the few English translations that uses a proper word, assembly, for the Greek word, ekklesia.
That which is commonly called the “early church” is not a church at all. It is the ecclesia that is built by the Messiah for the purpose of establishing His ever increasing government upon the earth.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government
or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.”
The Book of Acts reveals a number of incidents when the apostles spoke with authority from the stance of the government of heaven upon the earth.
The Ecclesia Prayed with authority. They were taught by Yeshua/Jesus to legislate in prayer with the protocols of heaven. Let’s look for protocols as we view this powerful decreeing prayer:
See Acts 4:23-31
This was the beginning of the Ecclesia authority in prayer that Jesus promised and also taught them.
The signs that followed are what we call “measurable results.”
These signs testify that the justice of heaven was enacted by the protocols of heaven’s courts being exampled by the Ecclesia.
At a glance, we can find these general protocols of prayer:
* The Lord Is One: Who He Is: “Oh Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them”
* We Remember Your Davidic Covenant: “through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said…”
* Who Am I: “grant that Your bond-servants may”
* In Who’s Covenant Bloodline: “through the name of Your holy servant Jesus”
The results are miraculous. This is the beginning of the fulfillment of His promise:
“For where two or three have gathered together in My name,
I am there in their midst.”
“And when they had prayed, the place where they
had gathered together was shaken,
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began
to speak the word of God with boldness.”
These are measurable results.
