A Believer’s Ability to Heal the Land
In the modern Church there is a foundational principle that has been generally missed by theologians, preachers, Church leaders and people of prayer that I believe could be among the most freeing revelations of creation and our inheritance as children of God. I’m speaking of the land which we have inherited from our heavenly Father.
Psalms 115:16“The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men.”
The earth that is given is our inheritance as the Lord’s children. When given a gift, it is necessary that we receive it with the love that was intended. The Father of lights has given us our land and rather than giving it to Him, as if is it not His already, we need to receive that gift of our land with sincere gratitude.
Take into consideration, your land that the Father has given you. You may own lots of land or you may not own the smallest of parcels, but you have a place to abide and whether you “own” it or not, you should receive it with gratitude from the hand of Yahweh. Not only will there be joy in heaven but the land itself will rejoice, having begun it’s providential purpose.
Go to your land and pray. When you pray say:
“Father of lights, every good and perfect gift comes from you. You exist as the eternals, as the heavens of Your Presence. You have given unto us, Your children, the earth and this land that we are living upon in order that we might abide in Your presence. We receive the gift of Your earth and this land with sincere gratitude and with joy. So let the land rejoice and be glad for now its purpose will come forth and the land will produce abundantly and strengthen me in all that I do.”
Exonerate the Land!
It is written:
Colossians 1:19-24“For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth (gē; a prim. word; the earth, land:– country, earth, ground, land, soil) or things in heaven.”
Creator spoke and there was light. Since then there has always been light and there will always be light. Light came from within Him. The Earth – The Land – came forth as strategic building blocks from the genesis of light.
The land is the genesis that mankind comes forth from. The earth is like unto a womb (by type & shadow) and thus mankind comes forth from the land by the hand of the Lord God.
When the land is abused and justice is lost there is a call for justice.
The Lord God said unto Adam, “from the earth (ground) you came…” the Hebrew word for ground or earth is adamah from which the name Adam is derived.
There are 4 biblical spiritual defilements of the justice of the land:
- Bloodshed
- Immorality
- Broken Covenant
- Idolatry
Let’s look at the first, which is what I believe to be the foundational defilement and justice.
(Genesis 4:10-12 NASB)He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground. Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.”
(Genesis 4:10-12 Stone’s Torah)Then He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground! Therefore, you are cursed more than the ground, which opened wide its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. You shall become a vagrant and a wanderer on earth.”
I see several major and minor spiritual facets to these three verses of the scripture. Here is how I divide them:
He said, “What have you done?”
Voice of distrust. Voice of confusion. Voice of accusation. Voice of condemnation. These are voices that come from everywhere around. The resounding voice of justice comes crying forth from the ground – the soil – the land. They are heard as pictures, thouughts, doggmas, and sometimes they are more critical that we would want to admit.
These voices now have become paradigms of thinking in all areas.
Wars, politics, violence, mafias, druglords, etc.
The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground.
Now you are cursed from the ground, Justice has a voice that is heard by those living on the ground Hebrew word is plural for blood – “bloods” – thus, Stone’s Torah remarks: “The blood, Literally, “bloods.” The word is plural, implying that Cain’s crime was not limited to one person or even one generation; he had shed Abel’s blood and the blood of his potential descendants.
“Now you are cursed from the ground,”
The curse comes from the ground up.
The use of the term “curse” in the scriptures is varied in meaning and application. Here, when the ground cannot produce its destiny of blessing, to the degree it has been cursed, it resounds the cursedness.
The ground/land/soil is created to produce wealth/life.
“Which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.”
The “mouth of the ground” is an idiom that points to the sounds that come from the voice that the ground has been abused
“When you cultivate the ground,”
The Ground – The Adamah
It ought to be bountiful and life producing. The land you are on ought to be a veritable cornucopia of the produce of your hands
“it will no longer yield its strength to you;”
The Land – The Eretz
Eretz will not perform its task. Its destiny has been halted by the lack of justice. For the Land is meant to be just. It is given by the Justifier, the Judge of all, the Creator and Father of us all.
Yet, because of injustice, it has but a weak presence
“you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.”
The wander lust will be upon every creature in the land. There is no wealth produced by the land. There is no stock, no storehouse, no bank that will hold the livelihood of anyone on the land
Stone’s Torah remarks: “Shall no longer yield its strength. Cain would always strive to find new areas to cultivate, search for more fertile land. He would know no more peace than his brother’s blood.”
In order to come to the answers for justice in our land and upon our lands, we need to look at the judgment that Cain received from the Lord. We will need to look into the continued justice of the Lord concerning the defilement of the land and the inheritance that was given through the mercy of the Lord. What became of Abel’s justice? Or, the justice for the offended lans?
(Genesis 4:22-24 NASB)“As for Zillah, she also gave birth to Tubal-Cain, the forger of all implements of bronze and iron; and the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah. Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah, Listen to my voice, You wives of Lamech, Give heed to my speech, For I have killed a man for wounding me; And a boy for striking me; If Cain is avenged sevenfold, Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”
This happens to be all that Genesis tells us about this event in Lamech’s life but there is obviously much more to the story. Stone’s Torah version states, “And Zillah, too — she bore Tubal-cain, who sharpened all cutting implements of copper and iron. And the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah. And Lamech said to his wives, ‘Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; wives of Lemech, give ear to my speech: Have I slain a man by my wound and ‘a child by my bruise? If Cain suffered vengeance at seven generations, then Lamech at seventy-seven!’”
Stone’s Torah commentary states:
Lamech’s plea:
- Lamech was blind and his son Tubal-Cain used to lead him.
- One day, Tubal-Cain saw Cain and, mistaking him for an animal, he bade his father to shoot an arrow, which killed Cain.
- When Lamech realized he had killed Cain, he beat his hands together in grief and accidentally struck his son, killing him, too.
- This angered his wives who refused to live with him, and he tried to appease them. He demanded that they obey him and come back, for, he asked, since he had not killed intentionally, could he be considered a murderer?
- As to their fear that God would punish him, he contended, “if the punishment of Cain, an intentional murderer, was delayed until the seventh generation, surely my punishment will be deferred many times seven because I killed accidentally!”
- He used the number seventy-seven to denote many times seven. [i.e., a long period, not meaning exactly seventy-seven. (Rashi)]
Now we come to the answer. Yeshua/Jesus. Prince of peace. The One Who’s government never stops increasing as it is laid upon His shoulders by the Father of lights.
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will among men.’”(Luke 2:13-14 LITV)
The justice given Cain is long remembered and is a basis of jurisprudence by the judges of Israel for many generations. The phrase of “seventy-seven’s” can be now understood as the bold and even provocative mercy that God gave unto Cain, thus, multiplied unto Lamech. Jesus was no Greek-Roman philosopher and will never be understood from that paradigm of thinking. In His own words, He brought justice into the world.
Jesus refers to this “seventy-seven” quote from the book of Jasher saying, “Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
“Then Peter came and said to Him, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. (Many scholars believe that this phrase should have been translated as the Hebrew idiom would imply: ‘seventy-seven times’)’”(Matthew 18:18-22 NASB)
There is justice that goes through the levels of the social all the way through the level of the ground and into the heavens. The answer is given to us to heal the land.
It is written,
“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.” – Hebrews 12:22-24
In context, the “sprinkled blood” is the blood of Jesus Christ. Thus, the Blood of Jesus speaks greater than the blood of Abel. Yet we find herein that Abel’s blood has a voice for justice.
There is a kind of jurisdiction that the land has because of the defilements, such as Abel’s innocent death. If we look a little closer at the word juris-diction: “juris” has to do with “law or legality” while diction has to do speaking or voice. I think this fits the situation of the land being defiled and how it is reported by God Himself unto Cain and then supported throughout the scriptures that deal with the land.
What we need to realize is that when the land is gouged by injustice or wrong/lack of godly justice there is a voice (testimony) against the inheritance of man. Innocent blood shed, figurative or actual empowers the principalities of the kingdom of darkness (Satan). The principalities and powers and the rulers of evil are voicing their wicked will and the people see pictures in their minds according to their voices. Voices of evil produce pictures in the mind of the people living upon that defiled land.
So the history of bloodshed and evil doings in a land will shape the pictures of the minds of the peoples on a land. Thus, the ecclesia should be taking every thought captive.
IT IS WRITTEN…
“Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” – Revelation 3:10
Therefore, we must persevere! For, it is also written,
“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is the Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” – Revelation 17:14
We have the testimony of the eternals that:
- By the Blood of the Lamb we overcome
- By the Blood of the Lamb we have peace
- By the blood of the Lamb we have reconciliation
- By the blood of the Lamb we are redeemed back into the bloodline of the Father.
- By the blood of the Lamb we are redeemed back into the arms of the Father.
- By the Blood of the Lamb we enter the resurrection power of the endless Life…
- By the Blood of the Lamb we enter the resurrection power of the place of the eternals…
- By the Blood of the Lamb the case against us is dismissed…
- By the Blood of the Lamb our sins are forgiven and forgotten forever…
Go to the land of your inheritance and speak to it as a child of God and a member of the Ecclesia of God, saying, “Oh, Land! Your cries have been heard by the Almighty and Creator Who has prevailed on your behalf, for the Blood of the Lamb of God has been given and the cleansing power of that Blood is the testimony that covers all sins and iniquities. Oh! Land! You are not guilty of the defiling acts of man that you have had to witness upon you! Your Judge and Master – your Creator – says that you are given unto His children. We receive you and we exonerate you from all guilt from any and all defilements. Oh! Land! You are set free and liberated so that you can fulfill the purpose of your being. Land! You are free! By the Blood of Yeshua ha Meshiach, You are exonerated!”
