Pirate stories have somehow become romantic adventures. I’m not sure that it’s a good thing. Real pirates have always been ruthless, greedy, and violent thieves. They have forever stolen what is not theirs and promoted something evil. Very evil.
None the less, authors and movie makers have now romanticized the pirate’s life. Somewhere in the storylines of pirating, there is a “treasure chest.” Seems like no matter how much romance, how much swashbuckling, how much drama, or intrigue, there always seems to be a treasure chest that trumps all the other stuff that goes on in the story.
I don’t mean to make any play on words here, but in a somewhat childlike understanding, I’d like to help us all to receive some enlightenment from something significant about Elohim’s creation.
I’m sure you have probably thought about the fact that the biblical word “heart” must have some relativity to the physical heart with which each of us is endowed.
Matthew 6:21, “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Jesus
And to think, our heart is encapsulated within our chest. Now, I would say that you have a treasure chest, and your heart is at its center.
I’m sure that your high school biology can come into play a bit here, as you know, that there are four chambers of the heart. The right and left atrium and the right and left ventricle. The right atria receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it through a doorway (valve) to the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the oxygen-poor blood to the lungs. There the oxygen-strong air is passed into the bloodstream, and the left atria receives oxygen-strong blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle. The left ventricle pumps the oxygen-strong blood to the far reaches of every part of the body. Each chamber of the physical heart has a life establishing purpose, and I think they have a divine meaning or insight that goes along with them.
Don’t you find it interesting that somewhere way back in history, some biologist or scientist of some kind named the essential organs and parts of our bodies with biblical words and descriptions?
There is no question that the word heart was first in the Bible, and most of the time, it is referring to the spiritual heart. The nomenclature of the physical anatomy referred to as the heart was surely a biblical reference. Some medical scientists saw more than just a muscular organ in the chest – it must have been a revelation of the likeness of that muscular organ that pumps blood through the circulatory system as a type and shadow of the diving heart in the scriptures. To me, it is the simple question of knowing which came first, the Bible, or the study of medical science? It was, of course, the Bible.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement… For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its life.”
(Leviticus 17:11 & 14 NASB)
Though there is life in this blood, if that blood is not moving, there is death instead of life. It is the heart that moves the blood so that there is life. That is true in the physical body, and yet it is also true in the divine life.
Our heart is our treasure chest. Our blood is the eternal life in the Blood of Jesus Christ, which is passionately declared by us. So then, our hearts are full of faith and passion for Holy One and what He has done. From our hearts, we express with passion, our faith in the Blood of the Lamb, declaring the salvation of our King – Who is Yehoshua Messiah – the Son of the living God!
I won’t go on with the physical to spiritual types and shadows here, but I do invite you to think more about this subject and see the likenesses of spiritual to natural and vice versa. I believe that if you do, your faith may catch fire, and a great flame of passion within the treasure chest of your heart may well produce divine healing in both you and those around you.
It is written,
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“Do you not know, your body is a dwelling of
the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) Who is in you,
Whom you have from Elohim, and that you are not your own?
For you have been purchased with a price.
Now glorify Elohim in your body.”
I think that if God can give you a new heart (spiritual), He can give you a new heart (physical). So, boldly, passionately, declare the salvation of His Blood that is teeming with His life!
