The Power of Identification:
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Messiah Yeshua has set me free from the law of sin and death.” – Romans 8:2
One of the great mysteries of the Kingdom is the power of identification. The Holy Spirit identifies with the believer so completely that His strength begins to overcome our weakness. What was formerly impossible through human effort becomes possible through His Presence.
Isaiah declared:
“He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our Shalom was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5
The Son did not merely sympathize with our condition. He identified with it. He assumed our weakness, carried our griefs, bore our sorrows, and yielded Himself completely to the will of the Father.
Because He identified with us in weakness, we may now identify with Him in strength.
Likewise, intercession often functions through identification. A believer may sense the burden, weakness, or struggle of another and then stand in the strength of the Holy Spirit until that weakness is overcome.
The Spirit identifies, strengthens, and overcomes.
Yieldedness Creates Humility
Many people pursue humility directly and rarely find it. Humility is not something a believer can manufacture. Humility is the visible evidence of yieldedness. The yielded believer becomes humble because self-rule has been surrendered.
Humility is not something a believer can purpose to become. Humility is the report of a life that has been yielded.
Yeshua demonstrated this perfectly.
The Son declared:
“Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” – Hebrews 10:7
Everything about Yeshua was yielded to the Father.
He yielded His reputation.
He yielded His rights.
He yielded His comfort.
He yielded His very life.
For this reason, Yeshua stands as the greatest example of humility in all creation. Yet, humility was not His goal.
Yieldedness was His posture and humility was the result.
Love Creates Holy Passion
Yieldedness does not diminish passion. Rather, it purifies passion. The Holy Spirit produces within believers a holy desire for the promises of the Father to become manifest in the earth.
This is why Scripture describes the disciples in the Upper Room as being in “one accord.”
The Greek word is homothumadon — literally meaning “one heated passion.”
Their unity was not merely an agreement of doctrine. It was shared identification with a common promise. Their hearts burned together for the same thing. They became one because they desired one thing.
The Miracle of Oneness
Oneness is not primarily an organizational achievement. Oneness is a miracle.
Holy matrimony is a miracle of oneness.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are One.
The Body of Messiah is called into that same reality.
“I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be one, as We are One.” – John 17:22 (LITV)
The New Testament speaks of the creation of one “neos” man — a new humanity formed through Messiah. When believers yield themselves to the Holy Spirit, holy passion draws them together until they begin to identify with one another and with the purposes of Heaven.
This is why Yeshua said:
“For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:20
The Presence becomes manifest in oneness.
Faith Is Energized By Love
Where does faith enter this equation?
Paul answers:
“Faith working through love.” – Galatians 5:6
The Greek word translated “working” is energeo, from which we derive the word “energy.”
Faith is energized by love. Love ignites faith. Passion energizes faith.
Faith then acts upon the promises of the Father, and without love, faith loses its power and purpose.
“If I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” – 1 Corinthians 13:2
Love is therefore not an accessory to faith. Love is its fuel.
The Enemy of Oneness
The great enemy of this process is the tyranny of self. The ego-centered life destroys yieldedness. Without yieldedness, there can be no humility.
Without humility, there can be no oneness. Without oneness, there can be no corporate manifestation of the Presence.
When self becomes the center, love becomes distorted into narcissism and the heart begins to function from an orphan identity rather than a sonship identity.
The Spirit continually calls us away from self and into union.
The Manifestation of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is saying:
Yieldedness is the pathway to humility.
Love creates holy passion and Holy passion draws believers into oneness.
Oneness creates identification, and Identification releases strength, and strength overcomes weakness.
And the Presence of the Holy One becomes manifest among us and through us.
We become one new man in Messiah. His identity becomes our identity – His strength becomes our strength.
His life overcomes our weakness, and healing flows – Provision flows.
The will of the Father is revealed in the earth.
When we cease striving to produce the miraculous and simply yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, the miracle of oneness emerges naturally.
Then the Presence of the Holy One is no longer merely around us.
He is in us, with us, and manifesting through us, and when we speak things into existence from within His Name, miracles take place.
